Symfony 7.4 LTS and Symfony 8.0 Released

In November 2025 Symfony shipped two releases at once: 7.4, the new long-term-support version, and 8.0, which requires PHP 8.4 or newer.

Following its usual release cycle, the Symfony project released Symfony 7.4 and Symfony 8.0 together in November 2025.

  • Symfony 7.4 is the long-term support (LTS) release of the 7.x line and the safe target for applications that need stability.
  • Symfony 8.0 contains the same features as 7.4 but removes all code deprecated during the 7.x cycle and requires PHP 8.4 or newer.

The recommended path is to upgrade to 7.4 first, fix every deprecation notice reported, and only then move to 8.0.
